What to look for when renting a remote virtual server

When buying or renting a VDS, you need to be guided by the following criteria:

  • disk type and size. Virtual servers using HDD storage are now practically not used. It is advisable to build modern projects on the basis of SSDs, since they are faster (up to 50 times). Disk capacity for VPS is usually from 10 to 50 GB;
  • amount of RAM. For small projects with a small amount of traffic, a virtual server with 1-2 GB of RAM is enough. Heavy sites will require more RAM - 4 or 8 GB;
